2027: APC TOP TO BOTTOM – THE UNAMBIGUOUS AND UNCOMPROMISING POSITION OF SOUTH EAST APC

The South East Zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby issues this clear, firm, and irreversible statement of position regarding the 2027 general elections.

Let it be known, without any shadow of doubt or room for misinterpretation, that the South East APC stands solidly, unwaveringly, and uncompromisingly for APC TOP TO BOTTOM in the 2027 elections.

From the Presidency to the Senate, House of Representatives, Governorship, State Houses of Assembly, and Local Government Councils, our position is one, our voice is united, and our resolve is total: Every elective position must be contested and won under the banner of the All Progressives Congress.

We welcome the adoption of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and the Accord Party through their respective governors and leaders. 

This development is a clear testament to the growing national consensus around the leadership, reforms, and stabilising agenda of President Tinubu. It shows that progressive-minded leaders across party lines have recognised the courage, vision, and results of the current administration.

However, for us in the South East APC, our commitment goes far beyond the presidential ticket alone. While we appreciate and welcome this cross-party endorsement of Mr. President, we make it categorically clear that the South East APC shall vote APC from Top to Bottom. We shall not stop at the presidency. We shall support, campaign for, and deliver every APC candidate at every level of the ballot.

We stand firmly and unapologetically with our leader, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum. His clear and consistent position on the 2027 voting pattern fully reflects the collective commitment of all APC Governors across the country. 

His Excellency Governor Uzodimma has demonstrated exemplary leadership by articulating a principled, strategic, and progressive stance that prioritises the long-term interest of the party, the South East, and Nigeria as a whole.

Those attacking him are myopic, ignorant, and completely lacking in basic understanding of leadership. Their criticisms reveal a shallow appreciation of political strategy, party discipline, and the responsibilities that come with high office. 

Leadership is not about populism or appeasing every noise-maker; it is about clarity of vision, courage of conviction, and the willingness to take positions that secure lasting political relevance and development for one’s people. Governor Uzodimma has shown these qualities. The South East APC stands solidly behind him.

We equally extol the outstanding commitment, loyalty, and steady leadership of the APC National Working Committee members from the South East, as well as the entire South East Zonal Executive Committee. Their collective discipline, unity of purpose, and steadfast support for the party’s direction have reinforced the resolve of the zone to deliver a resounding victory for the APC in 2027.

We reject, in the strongest possible terms, any notion of selective support, conditional loyalty, or half-hearted commitment. There shall be no “one leg in, one leg out.” There shall be no sitting on the fence. There shall be no quiet endorsement of opposition candidates at any level while claiming to support President Tinubu. The era of political double-dealing and strategic ambiguity is over in the South East APC.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated uncommon courage, vision, and resilience in confronting the deep structural challenges inherited by this country. Reforms that were long postponed have been boldly implemented. Infrastructure is expanding across the nation. Security architecture is being strengthened. Economic policies aimed at long-term stability and growth are taking root. 

The South East, like every other zone, has begun to feel the positive impact of purposeful federal governance, and we are determined to build upon this foundation rather than reverse it. 

The South East APC recognises that political power is not gifted; it is organised, contested, and secured through disciplined structure, unity of purpose, and electoral mobilisation. We therefore call on every APC member, leader, stakeholder, youth, woman, and elder in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States to fully embrace the Top to Bottom strategy.

This means:

- Total and enthusiastic support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

- Full backing for all APC senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly candidates across the five South East states.

- Unalloyed support for APC governorship candidates in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.

- Complete commitment to APC candidates at the local government level.

Any individual or group within or outside the party who seeks to promote parallel structures, encourage protest votes, or advance the interest of opposition parties under the guise of regional sentiment is working against the collective interest of the South East and the progressive future of Nigeria. Such tendencies will be resisted and exposed.

We salute our three APC Governors His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State, and His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State  as well as our National Assembly members, State Assembly members, party executives at all levels, and the entire rank and file of the APC family in the South East for their steadfastness and growing cohesion.

The 2027 elections present the South East with a clear choice: to consolidate the gains of progressive governance or return to the politics of perpetual opposition and marginalisation. We have chosen the path of consolidation. We have chosen the path of relevance. We have chosen the path of power.

APC Top to Bottom is not a slogan. It is our doctrine. It is our strategy. It is our non-negotiable position.

We call on all progressive-minded citizens of the South East, home and in the diaspora, to join this irreversible march. The South East APC is ready. The structures are being strengthened. The mobilisation has begun. Victory is our target, and victory we shall achieve.
