PVC COLLECTION: PRINCESS GLORIA AKOBUNDU URGES SOUTH-EAST, NIGERIAN WOMEN TO COLLECT PVCs, PARTICIPATE IN 2027 ELECTIONS
Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, PhD, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Wing and Secretary of the APC PCC Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians), has urged women in the South-East and across Nigeria to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in the 2027 general elections.
Her call comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced nationwide PVC collection on 9 October 2026 for registrants from the 2025 Continuous Voter Registration exercise and earlier exercises. Collection is ongoing at Registration Area centres until 15 October, after which it shifts to Local Government Area offices.
Akobundu made the appeal in the context of intensified APC women’s mobilisation ahead of 2027. She specifically called on women voters, particularly those in the South-East, to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, communicate federal government programmes to their communities, and ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
_“I urge women voters everywhere to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the consolidation of the good works already set in motion,” she stated._
Akobundu highlighted programmes she said have impacted women and youths, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which has recorded over 1.4 million registered students, more than 1.69 million loan applications, over ₦191 billion disbursed, and partnerships with more than 320 institutions.
She also referenced expanded cash-transfer interventions reaching millions of vulnerable households, consumer credit schemes, infrastructure development, digital skills training, and youth empowerment initiatives.
Princess Akobundu has repeatedly appealed to South-East women, traders, farmers, entrepreneurs, professionals, and young women to take the Renewed Hope message to their localities and mobilise for the re-election of President Tinubu.
